2010 C & C Regatta/Rendezvous
August 16th, 2010 @ 07:06 PM EST by admin

Don Williams – Cruising Division Chair

Despite lower attendance than normal due to other happenings in the city that weekend, the C & C Owners Regatta was one of the best yet.

Our “Mardi Gras” themed C & C Owners Regatta and Rendezvous this year – which was really fun – was headed up by Bruce Spragg, with an unbelievable amount of dedicated and hard marketing work by Geoff Hadrill and a little help from myself. Lori Blanchard, Sheila O’Neill and so many others also helped make this possible. Thanks so much “yous” guys! We appreciate the assistance from our sponsors as well: Remax, Genco, Porter Airlines, The Art of Music DJ Service, Canadian Yachting, Job Posting, Gosling’s, Predictwind.com, applytoeducation.com, Westview Golf Club, St. Marys, Metro Groceries, State Farm Insurance, Evolution Sails, Amsterdam Brewery, and Ontario Place.

Yes, we had it all. Our ever popular Casino Night on Friday night, two very different “live” entertainment acts on Saturday night – both fantastic in their own right, including party dancing to late, late, late with Swamperella (how can you go wrong with a band with a name like that!). Delicious Cajun food by our great restaurant staff, fun music and contests all weekend-long by your resident DJ (me), some great racing, an interesting and fun visit to The Boulevard Club. A great social event for all concerned, all weekend long.

Thank you again to all that helped out with this annual event – “‘ya done good” as they say in N’awlins!

Time to start planning for 2011. If you have a theme in mind for next year, let us know! And like this year, it is now open to all NYC members and guests so put the date into your calendar for next year and hang out at the club for this weekend, you will not regret it. And…no G20!!!
