[ There is also an interview with IRC Technical Committee chair Mike Unwin answering some questions about the IRC Rule. ]
All Canadian IRC certificate holders will now be receiving their IRC renewal forms from the CYA office. If you are making any changes to your boat or sails for the 2012 season do not return your renewal until you have been measured or have a sailmakers measurement certificate for your new sails. By doing this you will incur no additional fees when renewing for 2012.
We suggest that all Canadian owners return their IRC renewal documents to our IRC Chief Measurer John Crawley (firstname.lastname@example.org) to ensure all documentation is correct and to expedite the renewal process. Once checked John sends your renewal forms directly to the RORC in the UK and copies the CYA on all submissions. This process is not necessary for US based owners in our Lake Ontario Fleet. All US owners in the Lake Ontario fleet may confirm all changes with our regional US-IRC measurer Tarry Polidor (email@example.com) who is based in Rochester as your renewals will be sent through US-IRC.
Brian Chapman as the principal of our very active and loyal fleet sponsor UK Halsey Sailmakers in Toronto has brought our attention to their very good website and invites everyone to sign up for their regular educational newsletter at www.ukhalsey.com/newslettersignup.asp There are a number of very interesting features to the UK Halsey site that includes a very informative Rules Quiz section that everyone will find useful and educational for the whole crew.
