Couldn't miss an opportunity to wish you Good Luck in all your new endeavours - it was great working with you. Adele Jardine from Prince Edward Island

Walter was always very professional in his work on behalf of the Club in both internal and external activities. He was a pleasure to work with and he made my term as Commodore enjoyable and easy as he always worked to ensure that I understood the issues. In addition, he worked hard to ensure that the decisions of the Board were properly and completely implemented. National Yacht Club is well positioned to move into the future, due in large part to Walter's efforts since he joined the Club 18 years ago. I extend to Walter my best wishes as he moves on to new and different challenges with CPSS. Past Commodore, Don Mockford _______________ I sincerely wish Walter all the best in his new opportunity and will be truly sorry to see him go – they will be big deck shoes to fill! I was pleased to have worked with Walter over my many years spent on the board and saw him handle every disaster that can possibly happen at a yacht clubs with a calm assurance that we all came to rely on. I even heard that this job is only Monday to Friday and he won't have to bus tables! Best of luck to you and yours Walter, Past Commodore, Paul Bond ____________________
Walter has cultivated strong relationships with our neighbours and partner associations. It has been due to his community spirit that we have developed programs with Broad Reach, Harbourfront Community Centre and built a strong bond with HMCS York and the Toronto Port Authority as well as other yacht clubs in the GTA and around Lake Ontario.
On his watch we have acquired the polecat, undergone several phases of new dock construction and restoration, renovated the dining room and chartroom, built the new workshop, established our high performance youth racing program, our highly successful adult education programs, and extended our services to include private member events. Walter is well known to sailors around the lake who often ask fellow members to extend a fond hello. On a personal note, I have very much enjoyed working with Walter these past three years as Commodore. He is a good listener, has provided much useful counsel, and has been always available to take action on a request and provide assistapnce. Henry Pirsig Commodore
