Bareboat 101: Planning a Charter Getaway

Interested in planning your own sailing getaway but not sure where to start? This session will cover the basics: getting a crew together, choosing a destination, booking the boat, planning your itinerary, travel, and meals. When and how should I start planning? What time of year should I go? What skills will I need? What will it cost? What should I expect? What do different cruising destinations offer? We’ll conclude with a slideshow of Caribbean and local charter destinations, and sharing of a few personal favourites.Jeff Cassidy, NYC member and Sail Canada advanced cruising/coastal nav instructor, has cruised and taught live-aboard courses in many destinations, both at home and abroad: St. Vincent & The Grenadines, Antigua & Barbuda, St. Maarten/St. Barth’s, BVI, Guadeloupe, Lake Ontario, Georgian Bay, and the North Channel.
