Lloyd Elliott: Offshore Racing

Single Handed Transatlantic sailor, co-founder of the prestigious Half Crown Club – OSTAR, Lloyd Elliott will share with us some of his most insightful and fascinating stories from his racing, yacht delivery and cruising experiences. Lloyd’s 1984 OSTAR showing was documented in the book – The Race: An Inside Account of What It’s Like to Compete in the Observer Singlehanded Transatlantic Race from Plymouth, England, to Newport, Rhode Island by J. T. W. Hubbard.

A night for women and men, to learn and talk about boating with Lori Mason of The Store Mason’s Chandlery ( The evening touches on Safety: Flares, and PFD’s as well as basic boat handling and docking.

“It doesn’t matter whether you are a skipper or a first mate, there’s always something to learn about boating. We share experiences, both good and bad, work out solutions and generally find camaraderie” says Mason.
