HMS Bounty replica sinks in Hurricane Sandy
October 29th, 2012 @ 10:03 PM EST by admin

The Bounty, a replica of the HMS Bounty which was built for the movie ‘Mutiny on the Bounty’ was abandoned and sank off Cape Hatteras, N.C. while riding out Hurricane Sandy. The crew issued a mayday and abandoned ship, reporting she was taking on water around 1830 Sunday evening October 28th. The US Coast Guard attended, pulling 14 of 16 crew out of the life boats. Two crew were not found in boats; Claudene Christian has been found and confirmed dead, and current reports suggest the skipper has not yet been found.

Further reports can be found through searching such as Google News.

But for now let us remember a woman who loved her ship.
