On the waterfront in Downtown Toronto since 1894 From novice to old salt, there is a place for everyone at National Yacht Club.

Here is an opportunity for NYC members to help out and to meet interesting fellow sailors. Major regattas bring officials from away, and they will need places to stay. We are looking for five or six beds in members’ homes for judges and race officials during two regattas. Billeting race officials, a world-wide practice, is new to the National but certainly not new to Canada; I have been hosted during regattas from Vancouver to Calgary to Halifax, and from Cowes to Bermuda.

NYC is hosting two major events this coming season. The C&C Owners Regatta will be run along with the Shark North American Championships over the weekend of June 28-30. LYRA, the Lake Yacht Racing Association brings boats from around Lake Ontario and from Lake Erie, with distance races and course racing August 1st to 4th.

Please contact me if you are interested, or if you have questions. It will involve offering a simple breakfast, and perhaps rides to the club for those who don’t have cars.
