Do you still need some extra hours to complete your Club Hours requirements? If so, I have an opportunity for you!
The Mooring Committee is responsible for all of the 106 mooring located in the outer basin. A recent situation, when one boat managed to break loose from its anchor, has caused us to review the inspection process. As a result, we are planning for a major inspection of each of the active moorings from top to bottom.
Scope of Work:
As the basin is still loaded with member boats, we will be using the Sailing School Brigs. The plan is to start the week after Labour Day and work three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) for at least two weeks. While the preferred time would be mornings (there is less activity in and around the basin), some of the sessions could be during the evenings.
To be able to complete this task, we will require a number of teams, each working with a diver, to visit each mooring, inspecting all of the components and then recording the findings before moving on to the next mooring. Each team will have at least 3 members (boat driver, recorder, boat handling/diver monitor) as well as the diver in the water. We are looking at using three such teams.
If you can commit to work with the team for some or all of these sessions, please notify me via email. I’ll add you to the team and keep you posted as the planning continues.
Many thanks for your consideration!
