Food, Glorious Food . . . from the Rhyme of the Ancient Mariner (Part 3) NYC style.. One of the most popular activities at National is to complain about the food and service in our restaurant. It runs a very close second to racing. To illustrate our preoccupation with this activity, here is an account of a disgruntled member who decided to take his complaint immediately to the house director who at that time was on his boat in the outer basin. He jumped into his dinghy and rowed out to Mike's boat where dinner was being prepared on board. Dave arrived angrily complaining that the eggs he had ordered for dinner were served cold. Mike, ever the helpful sort, replied "gee Dave, did you bring them with you? I'll heat them up for you.”
