Adult Learn to Sail and General Education Programs

At the NYC, we run many varied programs for novice sailors with ‘little to zero’ experience right through to advanced levels for people with varying degrees of knowledge and experience. Some of our programs are also available to non-members of the club. Whatever your experience, we have programs tailored specifically for your needs. Courses and programs also vary in content, from on- the-water, to classroom, from practical to theoretical.

Youth Sailing and Racing School

2008 Youth Sailing and Racing School About NYC Sail Training Whatever your skill level, the National Yacht Club offers FUN and AFFORDABLE CYA-certified learn to sail programs for ages seven and up. We have a 50 YEAR tradition of teaching sailing and sailboat racing, in an enjoyable and safe "summer by the water" setting. We are also conveniently situated near public transit as well as having easy car access. Graduates of National Yacht Club's Sailing and Racing School have gone on to become Olympians. Currently, NYC's youth racers include both national and Ontario ranked racers with membership on both the Canadian Youth team and the Ontario Sailing Team. Several graduates have gone on to become CYA certified sailing instructors. Time on the water can lead to a life-long love of sailing and builds skills, self-reliance, and a sense of teamwork in every individual.
