Mark Setting Course NEW!

So, you want to be the envy of the sailing community by setting marks like a pro?   Then join us for a two-day program that will give you all the “tricks of the trade.”

On Saturday, we will give you an overview of the duties and responsibilities of a Mark Setter; the safety issues you should be on the lookout for; the equipment you will need, and the calculations needed to set the “perfect” course.

Then on Sunday you will spend the day on the water mark setting, practicing anchoring skills so they don’t drift, using a GPS to get the mark in just the right spot, and boat-handling skills - with some of the best Mark Setters in the area.

Don’t wait until the end of the season- earn you work hours early by setting marks.

North U Sails & Tactics Seminar* NEW!

OPEN TO NON-MEMBERS

Every four years, the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) change. Starting in January 2013, the new RRS apply. The 2013 Sailing Racing Rules & Tactics Seminar covers the rules (new and old) and related tactics. You’ll see how the rules work and understand how to resolve the conflicts and transitions between the rules as positions change. We’ll go all the way around the course, teaching the rules in the way you use them – not by the numbers, but through situations on each leg of the course. You will learn to recognize situations and understand which rules apply.

Date: Saturday April 13, 2013
