About Club Racing
With a history steeped in competitive racing on Lake Ontario, National Yacht Club offers a comprehensive, three night midweek racing program for all skill levels. One design racing is offered as well as handicap racing. Participants from other clubs are welcome!
There are currently three nights of keelboat racing:
Tuesday PHRF whitesail, Quarter Ton and Shark. See race results.
Wednesday PHRF spinnaker racing. See race results.
Thursday Women's, double-handed and beginner skippers. See race results.Dates and times for Club Racing are outlined in the NOR and Sailing Instructions. Click Here.
New Introductory Crew and Crew members are encouraged to find places on mid-week racing boats. With the Crew Bank system you learn to race and/or sharpen your sailing skills. The Crew Bank helps crew members participate in mid-week races and this helps boat owners build teams that last from season to season. Learn more about the NYC Racing Crew Bank.
To register for Mid-Week Racing or Round-the-Island Races please visit the registration page, here.
For details regarding dates and start times please review the racing documentation, available here.
If you have any questions regarding NYC midweek racing please contact email@example.com.
All boat owners participating in the NYC Midweek Racing program must have a valid PHRF certificate or one-design measurement certificate for their boat. Your PHRF certificate will be renewed after April 20. If you are no longer racing your boat, you will need to notify the Sailing Office so that you will not be billed for the certificate. A renewal fee of $35 will be billed to your account. PHRF-Lake Ontario no longer mails out renewal certificates but instead they are available for printing from the PHRF Lake Ontario website, www.phrf-lo.org. If you have purchased new sails you will need to have them measured. Please contact the club handicapper, at firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements to have your sails measured.
Division allocations for Club racing are posted on the official notice board, which is located in the west hallway. Please refer to Sailing Instructions for starting order, available here.
Results are posted on the bulletin board on the north side of the west hallway. For online race results choose Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays from the navigation to the right.
