New Year's Day Levee

National's New Year’s Day gathering where club members gather and socialize with the Commodore, the Board and fellow members. The Commodore and Board host the event, warmly welcome members, provide the delicious beverages and snacks and share the ushering in of a new year together with the anticipated new adventures it will bring.

Launch
Launch takes place on the closest weekend to May 1st. It is eagerly awaited and the weeks leading up to the event are characterized by an explosion of activity in and around the club. Typically launch itself takes place over two days and they are much anticipated as they mark the beginning of another boating season.
Sailpast
Not long after launch, the first formal event of the season, Sailpast, occurs. Sailpast marks the official start of the boating season at National Yacht Club and all members are invited to participate in the festivities of the day! The main event is the traditional on-water review of the fleet where participants sail past the Commodore's vessel. A shore side evening party with dinner and live music wraps up a day of fun.
NYC Summer Social
Members and guests of all ages participate in a day of friendly competition and socializing at NYC’s Summer Social.  For those who like to race there is a “catch-up” style Pursuit Race, where the slower boats get a head start on the competition. For those who prefer a more relaxing activity, the On The Lake Scavenger Hunt takes participants on an adventure around the Toronto Harbour. The fun times continue on shore with draw prizes, vendor demos and giveaways, lawn games and a delicious BBQ.

Poker Run
Open to all members and friends of the club, NYC’s annual Poker Run is not only fun, but also helps raise funds for Easter Seals. Participants collect cards from five designated on-water destinations with the goal of making the best poker hand- no racing required! There is usually a large “rafting” event after cards have been picked up followed by a dinner, dance and presentation of your poker hand, five sealed card containers at a time, with the winner, and a few runner-up’s, receiving prizes.

Regattas
The club hosts several weekend Regattas during the sailing season. Some of these have been fundraisers for worthy causes, both local and national. Others have consisted of Championship Class events for one-design vessels, such as Sharks, J/80, Beneteau 40 and may others as well as single manufacturer like C&C and Alberg. These are in addition to our own annual regattas - The National Event and NYC Open. More about NYC Regattas here.

Air Show BBQ
There is no better location to enjoy the Toronto International Air Show than on the dining room patio at NYC, or on your boat in the basin. Our always popular Air Show BBQ is a wonderful opporutunity for you to enjoy NYC's fantastic food and Lake Ontario view.

Haulout

Marking the end of our boating season, Haulout is another important event on NYC's annual schedule. Typically taking place a few weeks after Thanksgiving, it requires considerable preparation on the part of both the club and its members who haul their boats out of the water for the winter months.

Commodore's Banquet
The Commodore’s Banquet is the formal event of the season at National Yacht Club. Providing an opportunity for members and guests to dress up for a proper dinner and dance with the Commodore and the Board. It’s an evening of good food, live music and great company.
